A MORNING CHORUS
At 4:30am, I navigated goat-filled roads to reach my vantage point above Lindos.
As first light touched the temple of Athena, something extraordinary happened. Donkeys began braying—their voices echoing off 3,000-year-old cliffs in a sound I can only describe as Biblical.
Standing there as the village came alive below, I experienced Greece summed up in a single moment: the sacred and the everyday, existing together in perfect harmony.
This 15-second glimpse shows the dawn transformation—but it doesn’t capture that reverberating sound, the warmth of the sun finally breaking through, or why this particular morning reminded me why I’ve spent 37 years chasing these moments.
