Path & Stream Kynance Cove
Kynance Cove is located on the Lizard Peninsula in Cornwall, England, a place often celebrated in Cornwall art and Cornwall images.
One of the first times I visited here was in the early 1990s while shooting a lifestyle campaign for Clarks Shoes. This shot was captured a decade later while visiting the area with my wife and children. Kynance Cove and the Lizard Peninsula have always been a favorite spot for capturing stunning photos of Cornwall.
One evening, I decided to venture out on my own to take some images and headed to Kynance. The classic view is from the clifftop overlooking the cove and café below, but I wanted to find something different. My goal was to capture a unique angle for my Cornwall art collection.
I decided to walk down the path towards the cove with my gear to see what viewpoints I could find. The angle I wanted, which was to include the café and sea, was not easy to find, especially as I descended further down the path towards the sea.
Not one to give up easily, I continued further, and as I turned a bend, I discovered this view. The café was in sight, along with the sea, but what got me most excited was the small stream hugging the path. The stream trickled gently towards the cove below, and the path led your gaze towards the café and sea beyond.
The composition was perfect, and so was the setting light behind the cliffs. What’s The Difference Between A Canvas And A Limited Edition Print?
The canvas prints are open edition — produced on artist-grade cotton canvas with archival pigment inks. There is no limit on how many can be made. The limited edition prints are on Hahnemühle Photo Rag paper — a heavy cotton paper used in museum collections — with a strict edition cap. When the edition sells out, the image is permanently retired. Both use the same photographs. The difference is the material, the edition limit, and what that means for long-term ownership.
