“Dawn Light in Lindos”

Sometimes the most beautiful discoveries emerge from revisiting moments captured in time. While exploring my archive, I rediscovered this peaceful scene from an early morning in Lindos – a testament to the unexpected gifts that photography can reveal.

The story began as I photographed the charming pathway leading to the whitewashed Chapel of Saint George Pahimahiotis, with the promise of the beach vista below.

Serendipity stepped in when a street cleaner passed through, washing the ancient stones. The morning light caught the dampened pathway in such a captivating way that I knew I had to reshoot the entire scene before the sun climbed too high.

What makes this image particularly special was a detail I completely missed in the moment – a solitary bird perched contemplatively on the church roof, discovered only months later during post-production. It added an ethereal quality to the scene that I couldn’t have planned if I tried.

The warm glow of the rustic street lamp creates a gentle contrast against the traditional whitewashed walls, while the narrow, winding path draws you into the heart of this serene village scene. It’s these authentic details that make Lindos a place
