Stilted Low Lighthouse
As the dusk fell and the tide continued to gently rise I waited for the optimum balance between the two. I eventually captured several frames once the light was perfect luminosity turning the sea to a silky blend of soft cool tones.
BACKSTORY
Stilted Low Lighthouse
During my late teens through to my early 30s, Burnham was where I lived while still learning the fundamentals of photography. The countryside and beach around Burnham were where I honed my craft.
This unique wooden stilted lighthouse is a well-known landmark at the beach in Burnham On Sea in Somerset. A listed building dating back to 1832, the low lighthouse sits on the beach, acting as a beacon for passing ships traveling up the Bristol Channel.
I timed my shoot to coincide with the tide and the setting sun. As dusk fell and the tide continued to gently rise, I waited for the optimum balance between the two. I eventually captured several frames once the light reached perfect luminosity, turning the sea into a silky blend of soft, cool tones.
It was a wonderful evening, and I was immersed in the moment with the relaxing sounds of the waves lapping onto the beach and the wonderful smell of the sea. The serene landscape was perfect for creating photography wall art.
The ethereal glow of the setting sun and the rustic texture of the wooden lighthouse added depth and character to the shots. These elements make for stunning art prints that capture the tranquil beauty of Burnham On Sea.
The beautiful scenery of Burnham, with its textured cobbles and timeless landmarks, continues to inspire my work. This particular shoot reminded me of why I fell in love with photography and the natural beauty that can be found in every corner of coastal wall decor.
The harmonious blend of light, water, and historic structures creates an image that tells a story and evokes a sense of peace and nostalgia. This unique scene is a perfect addition to any nautical theme home decor or coastal decor for home, embodying the essence of beach themed decor for home and the charm of lighthouses.

What’s The Difference Between A Canvas And A Limited Edition Print?
The canvas prints are open edition — produced on artist-grade cotton canvas with archival pigment inks. There is no limit on how many can be made. The limited edition prints are on Hahnemühle Photo Rag paper — a heavy cotton paper used in museum collections — with a strict edition cap. When the edition sells out, the image is permanently retired. Both use the same photographs. The difference is the material, the edition limit, and what that means for long-term ownership.
