Walkway To The Dunes

I had heard tales of a captivating path that meanders across a bustling golf course, through a reed bed, and over sand dunes before finally reaching the beach at Burnham-on-Sea in Somerset, England. This scenic walkway promised to be the perfect subject for coastal wall decor and beach-themed decor for home.

Filled with a vision of how it might look, I was eager to capture this Somerset landscape with my camera. However, I faced several challenges: I didn’t know the exact location to access the path, whether there was public access across the golf course, or if I’d be trespassing. The memory of a near-miss with a golf ball from my childhood also made me apprehensive.

After checking the weather, I decided to venture out to the approximate area. Worst case, I’d have to ask for directions if I couldn’t find the path. Following a brief period of frustration and concern about losing the evening light, I finally discovered the elusive walkway.

While local golfers seemed displeased with people crossing their fairway, it was indeed a public right of way. Cautiously, I proceeded over the greens until I reached a stretch of water and reeds. There, I found the wooden walkway leading towards the sand dunes and onto the beach – a scene straight out of a coastal decor dream.

By the time I set up my camera, the skies had turned slightly cloudy, providing a soft diffusion to the setting sun. This natural light complimented the pale wooden bridge and reeds, creating an analogous color scheme perfect for the scene. The result was a stunning image that could easily become a centerpiece in any sea shore home decor or coastal office decor.
